All work and no rest is bad for your mental health. When studying, make sure to allot time for relaxing. Take regular short breaks to increase your productivity. These short breaks will help refresh and recharge your mind. Without these breaks, you will be more likely to be less effective and less engaged with your studies. The original pomodoro technique allots a 5-minute break for every 30 minutes of work. Feel free to use this time frame or modify it as it suits you.
What to do with these short breaks, you ask? A lot of options, I say. You can use this time to check your planner. Eat a snack or drink water, maybe? You could also stretch a bit. Or if you want, you can use this time for checking on your cats.
And by cats, I mean virtual ones. What?
CUTE APPS FOR YOUR POMODORO BREAKS
1. Neko Atsume. [ Android | Apple ] Cats. Cats. Cats. Need I say more? Okay, I’ll say more lmao. Basically, you’ll be luring cats to visit your home by laying out food and toys. Fill up your Catbook with lots of rare and cute (really cute) cats. (My favorite cats are Tubbs and Socks. Drop by and tell me your favorites omg.)
2. Crossy Road. [ Android | Apple ]You’ve probably already guessed but your job is to cross the road lmao. Really cool graphics and a lot of cute characters to collect. (If you have time to spare, playing multiplayer is also really fun!)
3. Dumb Ways to Die. [ Android | Apple ] In this game, all you have to do is try not to die. (By now, you must already know that I suck at explaining stuff.) Cute “dumb” characters, an addicting song, and funny mini games. It’s a really smart campaign by Metro Trains tbh. Be safe around trains, everyone!
(There’s also a Dumb Ways to Die 2!)
4. Agar.io.
[ Android | Apple ] Control your tiny cell and eat other players to grow larger! But watch
out: players bigger than you will be trying to make you their lunch.
(I legit copy-pasted that description. I’m sorry I’m lazy.) Making it to the leaderboard is challenging but doable. You can also play it on your desktop!
5. Pakka Pets. [ Android | Apple ] Pakka Pets is like a more exciting version of Tamagotchi. There are a lot of possible evolutions for your pet and each evolution receives a different set of quests/tasks. You can explore the town, talk to the residents, and unlock new locations. The pets are really cute btw!
6. Magic Touch: Wizard for Hire. [ Android | Apple ] Ooh. I love this one! This is a really fun game. You use your finger to scribble on your screen but you need to match the shapes on the balloons. Don’t let the balloons reach the ground! (I feel like this is great practice for taking in-class notes hahaha.)
Whew. I haven’t made a post like this in ages. That’s all for now. I might make a part 2 on fun apps but it definitely won’t be that soon. I think I’ll be working on English Vocab pt. 2 first (which has long been overdue, I know).
