hello there! there’s been a lot of posts about stationery and notebooks in the studyblr sphere – and while that is important, the environment you study in is, too. i usually study in my room – and by extension, my home – and it helps me a lot to have these things listed here nearby (or at least in my house somewhere). i really don’t think i would function as good if i didn’t have them. 

these might be ‘basic’ stuff, but they’re called basic for a reason (hah).

PAPER
i think this is the most important in this, lol. though i have notebooks and notepads, i like to use plain paper for making summary sheets to test out the extent of my knowledge on a particular topic or subject. i also print a lot, so to have a stock of paper somewhere is vital. i recommend buying 80 gsm paper at the least – this is optimal for printing double-sided (save ur paper, people!!). i printed my practice math paper double-sided with the 70 gsm one and it’s so see through that it was distracting to work with. it looks and feels very thin.

POST-ITS
just the basic yellow one will do, to be honest (it’s the one i use the most). this one i use for everything – doodling when i’m bored, jotting down the assignments i have in my bullet journal, stuff i need to to check out, adding additional information in my notes, etc. it’s very versatile.

SCISSORS
a life saver. i cut out a lot of things – pictures for my visual arts class, trimming the glued sheet that’s in my notebooks so it doesn’t stick out, etc. the application of this is definitely not limited to academic use. i can’t count how many times i wished i had a one when there was no scissors near me.

TAPE
i recommend having both masking and double tape. i don’t really like clear ones – it’s really flimsy – but i rely a lot on these two types to stick things. i double-tape instead of gluing sheets in – and, because of the bad binding design of my school notebooks, tape the pages into submission so it doesn’t fall out…

STAPLER
godsent for hand-outs. i usually use this to staple my printed math revisions and inserting assessment criteria on my notebooks. you know that feeling when you’re printing your essay and you have nothing to staple it with? never again.

BLU-TACK / ADHESIVE PUTTY
this is for you all who stick motivational pictures on the wall (shout-out to myself yay!!! jk) or at least that’s what i primarily use it for, haha. but this can be used to hold stuff in place on your desk – let’s say, pencil holders and lamp. i like using blu-tacks to stick things on my wall instead of using tape, because generally it will not rip the paper away when you detach it and it’s invisible from the eye.

PRINTER+SCANNER
i seriously CANNOT underline more the importance of this one to me. IT’S SO IMPORTANT. i print AND scan a lot of stuff, and since im basically child-aged i can’t really just pop out of my house to go to a printing shop. i currently have an epson L210 and it is a blessing on my life. i print a lot of revisions, practice papers, printables (shoutout to all you printable makers out there! you’re amazing), and artworks for my visual arts class. i scan my notes and pages from my sketchbook to hand as assignments. the price for this one is 2 and a half million rupiah, which is less than $250 i think? it’s a good price and a good investment.
